On Tuesday, August 5, Franconia joined thousands of
communities across the U.S. in celebrating National Night Out Against Crime. Over 1,000 people joined the police department for Franconia’s 12th annual celebration, despite the possibility of inclement weather.
Participants and spectators enjoyed many fun and exciting events, such as live music by local rockabilly band Mac’s #13, demonstrations of several emergency service departments and their equipment, a custom car show, and a model aircraft show. They also enjoyed plenty of food and refreshments.
Franconia Township would like to extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to all of our participants and donators. The vast success of our community programs is a direct result of the contributions and support provided to the police department each year.
National Night Out is an annual worldwide event that brings together citizens, law enforcement agencies, local officials, and local businesses to increase anti-crime awareness and strengthen community partnerships.
Thank you to the organizations and businesses that contributed to the success of Franconia’s 2008 National Night Out. |
