Donate Items to Katrina Relief

Officer David Klepfer and Officer Timothy Boyle box up the supplies donated to send to the Deputies at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Department in Louisiana.

D.A.R.E. America reached out to its fellow D.A.R.E. members, students, and staff to help with the relief efforts in Louisiana. The devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina was of astronomical proportions, and the even local law enforcement agencies were left in need of supplies and assistance.

Franconia Township Police Department D.A.R.E. Officers David Klepfer and Timothy Boyle asked the local schools, residents, and other officers for assistance with relief aid. West Broad Elementary School and Vernfield Elementary School collected items such as toiletries, clothing, baby supplies, and other necessities to send to Louisiana. Local residents, township employees, and the police department also donated such items.

The Franconia Township Police Department would like to thank everyone who helped with assistance for the Katrina relief. This is a great example of what can be accomplished with a strong community and police partnership.
