Paul Stoudt has been
the Fire Marshal for the past thirty-two years. In 1965 he
received the Carnegie Award (Bronze medal) for pulling a truck
driver from a burning truck. Mr. Stoudt received several burns
in the process of rescuing the truck driver and was released
after treatment for burns at a local hospital.
Mr. Stoudt was the Fire Chief of Souderton for twenty years
when he retired in 1988. His last big fire with Souderton
was the Perkasie fire of 1988 - Started by kids playing with
matches.The Fire Marshall investigates anyfire causing damage
greater than $250.
On request, the Fire Marshal will visit your home to provide
instruction on where to place smoke detectors and will point
out escape routes. He also provides fire prevention talks
to SAAC (Senior Center), Hidden Springs, and various clubs.
